Intelligent measures to boost food safety supervision

North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region plans to boost its supervision and control of food safety by utilizing intelligent technologies, such as big data and cloud computing, according to local authorities.

In order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its food safety monitoring, a number Inner Mongolia government departments will also establish a supervision and law enforcement team while introducing smart supervision.

An official said the local authorities would work with relevant agencies and local companies to strengthen coordinated supervision.

He said the authorities would promote the acceptance of the establishment of national food safety demonstration cities in Hohhot and Ulaanqab as soon as possible and promote pilot schemes for intelligent supervision in key cities.

The plan is also to boost the establishment of national and regional-level banner and counties of high-quality and safety in agricultural and livestock products, and to promote the overall supervision ability for food and drug safety in the whole region to achieve new improvements.

In addition, market regulators will also use the new media to publicize food safety awareness through various platforms.
