Archipelago promotes 70 romantic island 'weddings'

Seventy newlywed couples are being sought throughout China for exotic Sept 27-29 "Sea Weddings" on Wanshan Archipelago's Dong'ao Island. The 1,399 yuan ($202.7) upscale package service encompasses special premium hotel stay, island wedding shooting, and sea wedding videoing.

The registration deadline is July 20, it was announced at a tourism promotion in the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan City Cluster in Hunan Province on June 17.

Wanshan Archipelago under the Wanshan Marine Development Experimental Zone has 104 islands in the South China Sea opening of the Pearl River estuary between Zhuhai and Hong Kong.

More than 180 representatives from travel agencies, outdoor clubs, wedding companies, and media outlets in the city cluster attended the event promoting Wanshan's rich tourism resources. It was held by the Administrative Committee of the Wanshan Marine Development Experimental Zone from June 16 to 18.

Island luxury hotel

Brides were asked to vision themselves wearing gorgeous wedding dresses and smiles amid elegantly designed wedding arrangements set against the backdrop of the big island and vast ocean. This will be the first ocean wedding ceremony on Dong'ao Island, a national 4A-level tourist area.

The Wanshan Marine Development Experimental Zone includes most of the Wanshan Archipelago and is sparing no effort to create a superb destination for weddings, outdoor activities, and fishing. In addition to the group wedding, the calendar includes the 2019 Wanshan Seafood Gourmet Season, 2020 Wanshan Islands International Fishing Open, 2020 Wanshan Islands Mountain Marathon and sailing events, among other activities.

Wailingding Island is rated as a national 4A-level tourist attraction, with Guishan Island being at a very high-standard 3A level. In addition, Dongao Island has been recommended by People's Daily as one of the top 30 destinations for appreciating spring scenery in the country. The second season of CCTV's A Bite of China documentary has made Wanshan's seafood even more famous. Guishan Jiuzhou Blue Coast B&B was among the first 10 most beautiful homestays in Guangdong Province.
