GDP shoots up

The provincial GDP was 623 million yuan ($90.12 million) in 1949 and 1.48 trillion yuan in 2018, 2,377 times that of 1949.

Per capita GDP in Guizhou reached 41,244 yuan in 2018, which is 937 times that of 1949.

The annual average growth rate was 4.9 percent from 1950 to 1977, 10.3 percent from 1978 to 2011, and 11 percent from 2012 to 2018.

Disposable income rises

The disposable income of urban and rural residents was 236 yuan and 48 yuan respectively in 1962. The numbers increased to 31,592 yuan and 9,716 yuan respectively in 2018.

Poverty relief boosted

The poverty-stricken population decreased from 18.4 million in 1978 to 1.55 million in 2018.

7.68 million people in rural areas have managed to rise out of poverty from 2013 to 2018.

Industrial structure optimized

The ratio of the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries improved from 83.0:12.5: 4.5 in 1949 to 14.6: 38.9: 46.5 in 2018.

Grain production was 2.96 million tons in 1949 and 10.6 million tons in 2018.

Industrial output was 206 million yuan in 1949 and 1.48 trillion yuan in 2018.

Added value of the service industry was 28 million yuan in 1949 and 689.14 billion yuan in 2018.

Reform and opening-up

The import-export volume was $580,000 in 1956 and $7.603 billion in 2018.

The actual usage of foreign investment was $610,000 in 1984 and $4.74 billion in 2018.
