HBIS Group Co Ltd is a huge steel enterprise founded in June 2008 by the merger of the former Tanggang Group and Hangang Group.

While strengthening and optimizing its steel sector, HBIS is also developing strategic emerging industries, modern industrial services, and industrial chain finance. It also provides services related to industrial, engineering and digital technology, industrial trade and industrial finance for other enterprises.

HBIS has also been promoting the globalization of its whole industrial chain over recent years. It acquired the largest copper smelting enterprise in South Africa, the world's largest steel material marketing service provider, Duferco Participations Holding SA, and Serbia's only State-owned major steel enterprise, Smederevo Steel Mill.

By the end of 2018, HBIS had nearly 120,000 employees worldwide, including about 13,000 from overseas. The operation revenue in 2018 reached 337 billion yuan ($48.8 billion), while total assets were worth 436.4 billion yuan.

The group has been included in the top 500 enterprises of the world for the past 10 consecutive years.
