There are four airports in Shaanxi province: Xi’an Xianyang International Airport, Yulin Yuyang Airport, Yan’an Nanniwan Airport and Hanzhong Chenggu Airport.

In 2018, the passenger throughput of civil aviation at Xi’an Xianyang International Airport was 44.65 million, ranking seventh in the country. Currently the airport cooperates with 65 airline companies at home and abroad, and provides more than 64 international routes to more than 29 countries and 53 pivotal cities worldwide, covering 14 countries and 20 cities along the Belt and Road. It primarily forms an international network connecting the ancient Silk Road and also offers direct routes to Europe and North America, serving as a new engine for Shaanxi’s economic and social development.
