Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park is located 25 kilometers southeast from Sanya and surrounds Yalong Bay National Tourist Resort, which is honored as "The Most Spectacular Bay in the World". It is Sanya's first forest park based on national standards.
The park strongly respects nature and ecology. It provides 1,506 hectares of green land in the city. There are more than 1,500 kinds of tropical plants and over 190 kinds of wild animals in the park. A total of 210 hotels and several canteens are spread in the mountains that display high standards in design, construction, and management.
Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park is Hainan's first holiday resort which marries natural landscape sightseeing of coastal and mountainous areas with ecological vacation services. The scenic spot was bolstered by an investment of 1.9 billion yuan ($274 million). Possessing a variety of tourism resources, the park has become a large-scale ecological tourist resort that integrates hiking, outdoor training, recreation and sightseeing, self-cultivation, vacation services, science popularization education, and folk culture.
Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park was also the shooting location of Feng Xiaogang's 2010 film If You Are the One II, which starred Ge You and Shu Qi. Scenic spots like Bird's Nest Resort and Crossing Dragon Chain Bridge became widely known because of the famous director, actor, and actress. The places that appeared in the film are still deemed to be romantic destinations for couples.
