Weihai IVY International School is the first school dedicated to providing education for students aiming to study aboard, in Weihai city, East China's Shandong province. In 2012, the school was authorized by the Cambridge Assessment International Education as one of the Cambridge International Curricula Centers in China.
The school uses the IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) and A-level (General Certificate of Education Advanced Level) tests used by high schools in the United Kingdom. Students, who have passed the IGCSE or the A-level tests, are eligible to apply for more than 10,000 universities in over 160 countries and regions around the world.
The courses taught at the school are completely synchronized with the high school curriculum in the UK, which allows students to gain qualifications in line with international education in terms of knowledge and individual comprehensive quality.
Highly qualified and experienced foreign teachers have been employed to teach small classes (no more than 15 students), providing students with an all-English teaching and learning environment.
At present, the school has partnerships with renowned high schools and universities in the United States, UK, Canada, Australia and South Korea. Academic exchange activities are held regularly to improve students' ability to communicate with people from different cultural backgrounds.
In addition, the school has also organized various social activities and set up a batch of clubs in order to help students develop their personal interests and improve their abilities to think independently and work as part of a team.
Also, with an eye to keeping students healthy, six hours of exercise per week are mandated by the school to keep students active.
