Fujian Provincial Maternity and Children’s Hospital

Fujian Provincial Maternity and Children’s Hospital, being the first 3A-grade hospital of its type in China, was founded in May 1935 in Fuzhou city.

The hospital covers 29,700 square meters with a building area of 89,700 sq m. It offers 950 patient beds. In 2018, the annual patient numbers going through the outpatient and emergency departments passed 1.83 million and the annual number of inpatients amounted to 58,000.

The hospital offers medical treatment, training and scientific research. It conducted 18,600 surgical operations in 2018, a year-on-year increase of 7.36 percent.

By the end of 2018, the hospital employed 1,587 staff members, with 224 holding senior titles and 10 senior specialists enjoying special government allowances.

The departments of family planning and obstetrics are listed as provincial key clinical specialties. The hospital currently is able to conduct operations such as hysteroscope, laparoscope, colposcope and high frequency radiosurgical knife.

Its neonatology department is a pioneer in China as its critical illness rescue success rate is over 98 percent.

The hospital has set up six master’s degree awarding points and a doctor station, undertaking the cultivating of students from home and abroad.
