Suzhou to build model zone of 5G-based industrial internet

Suzhou in East China's Jiangsu province plans to establish a demonstration zone of 5G-based industrial internet in Suzhou New District, local media reported on May 24.

The local government inked a strategic cooperation agreement with the Jiangsu subsidiary of China Mobile Communications Corp, China Mobile (Suzhou) Software Tech Co and China Mobile (Shanghai) Information and Communication Tech Co.

The agreement states that supported by the products and technologies of China Mobile's research and development center in Suzhou, the four parts will establish an industrial internet demonstration zone based on 5G, edge computing and artificial intelligence.

Wan Guoguang, general manager of China Mobile (Suzhou) Software Tech Co, said at the signing ceremony that the demonstration zone will help expand the industrial internet industry in Suzhou and promote the transformation and upgrading of local businesses.

An incubator Hechuang Space was also inaugurated at the ceremony, which focuses on cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence technology and offers local tech startups a platform to seek strong growth.
