Jingzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone

Jingzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone was founded in 1992 and became a national-level economic development in June 2011.With a total area of 209 sq km, it is also a major destination that receives industries transferred from the coastal regions and an important zone in the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

It is the cargo transportation hub of Jingzhou city, boasting a 50-million-ton harbor and 100,000-TEU container terminal along the Yangtze. It is at the meeting point of the Shanghai-Chengdu and Jiaozuo-Liuzhou railways. It is also connected to the rest of the country with a number of highways and railways. It is only a 40-minute drive to the Three Gorges Airport and 2.5-hour drive to the Wuhan Tianhe Airport. Its pillar industries include equipment manufacturing, electronic information, new materials, pharmaceutical and chemicals, textiles and garments and advanced technology.

The zone is the most important investment destination in Jingzhou city. In 2018, the total industrial output value by companies registering in the zone is expected to increase by 21.17 percent year-on-year, industrial added value by 15.7 percent, fixed-asset investment by 11.5 percent and high-tech output value by 25.31 percent.
