Pudong to build AI pilot area

Pudong New Area in Shanghai is set to establish a pilot area for the innovation and application of artificial intelligence (AI), according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The pilot area will explore the layout, infrastructure, standards system, intellectual property transaction and other aspects of the AI industry; it will foster a fair, open and competitive market environment; and it will build a number of test fields for the innovation and application of AI in the fields of manufacturing, medical care, transportation, finance and other advanced fields.

Shanghai has been promoting the development of AI in recent years, and Pudong, as the industrial hub of AI in Shanghai, has laid a solid foundation for AI enterprises, technology R&D, application, and industrial ecological construction.
