Set up in 1963, the First Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine, located in Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang province, is a national 3A-grade TCM hospital offering medical treatment, training, scientific research and rehabilitation.

The hospital covers 130,000 square meters with a building area of 118,800 sq m, offering 1,500 patient beds. It has three inpatient departments and one outpatient department. 

The departments of gynecology, surgery, hematology and nursing are all key national TCM clinical specialties and 10 departments are listed as key TCM specialties of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Ten departments are also among key provincial TCM clinical specialties. The hospital has one nationally renowned TCM doctor, 39 provincially renowned TCM doctors and 46 university-level renowned TCM doctors.

The hospital is also equipped with advanced medical facilities such as an MRI, a spiral CT, a digital X-ray machine and an automatic biochemical analyzer, as well as a color ultrasound worth about 240 million yuan ($34.71 million).
