Central South University (CSU), a national key university, is located in Changsha, capital of Central China's Hunan province.

Covering an area of 392.4 hectares (including an area of 2.76 million square meters), CSU has campuses located bordering Xiangjiang River and at the foot of the Yuelu Mountain. The university is ideal for study and research in a restful environment and picturesque view. 

The university was established in April 29, 2000 by merging Hunan Medical University, Changsha Railway University, and Central South University of Technology.

CSU covers 11 fields of study, including engineering, science, medicine, management, literature, law, economics, philosophy, education, history, agriculture, and military science.

The university is active in international academic exchanges and has established cooperation relationships with more than 200 universities and research institutes from 20 different countries and regions.

It also cooperates with many multinational companies to explore ways to apply the latest technology to industries.
