Confucius International School Qingdao (CISQD), founded in 2009, is a full-time boarding school aimed at preparing an elite class of students for international careers.
CISQD has created an original education system integrating Chinese and Western concepts – the Six Arts of Confucius, as well as the A-level (General Certificate of Education Advanced Level), IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) and SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) tests used by high schools in Britain and the United States. The six arts are rites, music, archery, charioteering, calligraphy, and mathematics.
Highly qualified and experienced Chinese and foreign teachers that graduated from world renowned universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, and Harvard, have been employed to teach at the school in small classes, providing students with an English-language teaching and learning environment.
In addition, a batch of organizations have been set up, including clubs for drama, a model United Nations, equestrian activities, piano lessons, and the study of Confucius, in order to help students develop their personal interests.
Every March, CISQD organizes students to take part in the Princeton Model United Nations Conference and the Harvard National Model United Nations to broaden their horizons, and improve their abilities to think independently and work as part of a team.
Also, different kinds of contests and research activities, such as commercial competitions, will be held every year to put what students have learned in class into practice.
CISQD boasts excellent teaching and living facilities. All the classrooms are equipped with the latest multimedia equipment. The indoor stadium, swimming pool, theater, laboratories, computer center, and library have contributed to an ideal learning environment for students.
