It is one of the first batches of experimental schools of modern apprenticeship in the country, with three national and four provincial-level relative programs. It is the only one of all the vocational colleges in Shandong province that has a provincial-level postdoctoral innovation practice base.
It is also the only national overseas test center based in a vocational college in Shandong province authorized by the National Education Examinations Authority, with testing centers for TOFEL, GRE, TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean), JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test), and BEC.

Over the past five years, the total number of national patents applied by students is 4,536, of which 978 ones are invention patents.
It also lays emphasis on the integration of industry, university and research. It established the Shandong Provincial Intelligent Manufacturing Public Training Center by cooperating with German industrial group Siemens.
The working platform for industry-university-research collaboration education was jointly set up by the college and more than 500 leading companies, including FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co, Beiqi Foton Motor Co, Lenovo Group, China Railway Rolling Stock Corp, and Weichai Group.
In the past three years, the college has undertaken 300 school-enterprise cooperation and technical service projects, three national ones of Spark Program, and 157 scientific research ones at the city or department level. It won a total of 195 prizes at or above the city and department levels, and nine awards for scientific and technological advancement by the Weifang municipal government.
In recent years, the college has been expanding its international exchanges and cooperation with countries around the world. It has established long-term cooperative relations with 126 colleges and universities and research institutions in 17 countries, including Germany, Australia and South Korea.
In 2018, it built up a work station at the Bay State College (also known as BSC) in the United States, and was approved by the Ministry of Education to cooperate with the University of Northampton in the United Kingdom in the marketing major.
A total of more than 1,000 foreign students from 25 countries have come to study at the college over the past five years, 80 percent of which were from the countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, such as Russia, India and Pakistan.
