Xuzhou Central Hospital

Xuzhou Central Hospital, founded in 1953, is the largest 3A-grade hospital in the city’s Huaihai Economic Zone.

The hospital provides 5,000 beds for patients and the outpatient and emergency departments treated 2.94 million people in 2018, with the number of patients discharged totaling 195,400. And 73,200 patients were operated on at Xuzhou Central Hospital in 2018.

Currently the hospital employs 5,364 members of staff, with 721 of them holding senior titles. It has 86 clinical departments and 27 medical laboratories, with 20 of them listed as provincial key specialties such as cardiovascular medicine, stomatology, rehabilitation, endocrinology, orthopedics, pediatric services, nephrology, and anesthesiology.

Xuzhou Medical Emergency Center and rescue center for road traffic accidents is also located in the hospital.

The wards in the hospital are equipped with advanced facilities and intensive care units are also available, offering comprehensive first-aid treatment.

The hospital is able to provide various kinds of medical equipment such as a cardiovascular imaging machine, Varian linear accelerator, and femtosecond laser. The total value of the medical equipment in the hospital is more than 1 billion yuan ($148.59 million) and 4,734 types of equipment are worth over 10,000 yuan each.

The hospital provides coverage for about 20 cities and 147 counties and districts near Xuzhou. It has also established a medical group, governing 26 hospitals above grade two, as well as 200 medical service centers in towns and counties, and around 10 medical service centers in communities to provide medical treatment for locals.
