Liuzhou in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region will look for new growth opportunities and maximize opening-up in order to develop its economy, according to the local government.

In recent years, Liuzhou has devoted itself to serving as Guangxi's core hub city facing the ASEAN International Corridor, as well as being vital for industry and logistics on the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.

The city has partnered with Guangxi's Beibu Gulf International Port Group, and pushed forward the development of a new model for logistics to reduce transportation costs.

Liuzhou has also worked with China Railway Nanning Group to accelerate construction work on a batch of major projects, including a regional logistics distribution center for highway-railway combined transport, Liuzhou dry port and the Xi'e Railway Logistics Base, all of which are expected to boost the development of the city's multimodal transport system –– something that is expected to be mostly complete by 2020.

To further promote trade, the city will focus on breaking outbound transport bottlenecks, and promote the construction of a fast road linking Liuzhou and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

With a focus on developing a modern manufacturing city, it will continue to increase investment and deepen partnerships with a number of famous enterprises to introduce several high-tech and innovation-driven projects to ensure high-quality development in the area.
