Guangxi announces additional May Day trains

China Railway Nanning Group will put on extra high-speed trains to cope with the expected increase in demand during the upcoming May Day holiday, which this year has been extended to four days, running from May 1 to 4. Demand is expected to be highest on the first day of the holiday.
Authorities expect around 2.3 million passengers to take a train journey during this year's holiday, up 26 percent compared to the same period last year.
In order to be able to cope with demand, China Railway Nanning Group will operate 170 additional trains to some of the most popular destinations, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
