Shuozhou girl shines in youth sand painting contest

Liu Xialing from Shuozhou city in Shanxi province won an excellent work award at the finals of the 2019 Silk Road Youth Sand Painting International Competition, held in Beijing on April 13. 

Liu was Shanxi's only entry in the grand final of the sand painting competition, which was a part of a big 2019 Silk Road-themed youth event -- where more than 300 young people from 70 countries showed and shared their stories and dreams about the Silk Road through speeches, music, photos, sand paintings, and in other endeavors.
