China Eastern Air Holding Company, one of the three Chinese State-owned aviation enterprise groups, was recombined in 2002 by merging China XiBei Airlines and combining with Yunnan Airlines on basis of former China Eastern Group.

Headquartered in Shanghai, China Eastern boasts large airline nets running through China's eastern and western parts and connecting with Asia, Europe, Australia and Americas. 

China Eastern has developed an integrated service system focusing on aviation transportation and logistics, reinforced by a wide range of additional businesses including aviation real estate, aviation finance, advertising media and duty-free, air catering, trade and logistics, general aviation, and industrial investment. 

Currently, the company operates a fleet of over 600 aircrafts, with average age less than 5.5 years, being one of the youngest fleets in major airlines in the world. As a member of the SkyTeam Alliance, China Eastern serves over 100 million passengers globally and ranks 7th in the world. Through an air network, the company now reaches 1,052 destinations in 177 countries. Frequent Flyer of Eastern Miles are privileged with 672 lounges worldwide within all 20 SkyTeam member airlines.
