On April 19, local authorities in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region issued proposals calling upon citizens, enterprises and other social organizations in the region to support the protection of intellectual property rights (IPR).

According to local media reports, in recent years, the region has strengthened administrative and judicial protections for IPR, and cooperation mechanisms between various IPR departments have been improved. Also, a joint disciplinary mechanism has been established for serious untrustworthy behavior related to IPR (patents).

In November 2018, the Intellectual Property Office of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was established to promote the protection of IPR. It is responsible for handling intellectual property disputes, offering rights protection assistance, mediating disputes, and investigating and punishing intellectual property violations according to law.

Over the past five years, the region has investigated 4,056 cases of infringement and counterfeiting and successfully protected the rights of enterprises and consumers.
