Betel Nut Valley, or Binglang Valley, is a large park dedicated to Hainan Li and Miao minority culture. Here, you can walk through a traditional Li or Miao village, try traditional Li and Miao foods, attend breathtaking shows with Li and Miao music, dances, and traditional clothing, meet elderly local women and see their traditional tattoos, watch them weave amazing brocades on their foot looms. You can even experience a traditional Li or Miao style wedding!

In Betel Nut Valley there are exhibit halls displaying the fabulous Dragon Brocades, traditional tree bark clothing, and many other fascinating Li and Miao cultural heritage items passed down through history.

Visitors may indulge themselves in appreciating folk customs, dancing to ethnic melodies, enjoying ethnic foods and experiencing traditional lodging. Binglanggu is the only tourist resort themed on primitive and ecological ethnic culture, and has made a great contribution to the exploring, preservation and promoting of aboriginal heritage.

Ticket price: 120 yuan per person (children under 1.2 meters tall enjoy free admission, and tickets for 1.2 – 1.4 meter tall children cost 65 yuan, seniors of 70 years and up enjoy free admission)

Transportation:

Take the Sandao Town bus from the Sanya Bus Station, and get off at the Binglang Valley entrance. The trip will cost about 14 yuan and about 45 minutes.

Taking a cab from downtown Sanya will cost about 100 yuan.
