The first Inner Mongolia stage art exhibition was unveiled at Inner Mongolia Exhibition Hall in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region on April 13.

It was hosted by the Inner Mongolia cultural and tourism department and the federation of literary and art circles.

The exhibition aimed to promote the development of Ulan Muqir art troupes and encourage creative work of stage artists. It also planned to collect outstanding drama, music, dance works and art shows for the fourth national stage art exhibition.

More than 400 artworks of nearly 70 designers in Inner Mongolia were displayed at the exhibition, covering such fields as stage settings, props and acoustic equipment.

It is also a presentation of the achievements Inner Mongolia has made in stage art over the past 40 years.

Summit forums and academic lectures on stage art and designs, light art and technologies were also held during the exhibition.

“Stage art establishes communication between performers and the audience,” said Dai Yongfeng, secretary of the regional federation of literary and art circles.

He added that multi-media such as special effects can provide a more versatile and audio-visual presentation of stage art, boosted by today's scientific technology.
