The Southern China island province of Hainan boasts abundant tourism resources and a 30-day visa-waiver policy for travelers from 59 countries.
Tropical coasts, pristine rainforests, hot springs, folk festivals, sports events, exhibitions, and conferences have made Hainan a popular choice for tourists from China and abroad.
Data from the province's tourism authority show that more than 76 million domestic and overseas tourists visited the resort island in 2018, up 11.8 percent year-on-year.
The province aims to become an international tourism and consumption center by 2025, with plans to ease restrictions on its offshore duty-free policy and develop cross-border cruise tourism.
