The 2019 Jingxi Border City International Marathon will be held on April 21 in Jingxi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, the local government announced on April 15.

Nearly 6,700 people from China, the United States, France, Vietnam, and Ethiopia have signed up for the event, which will include a 42-kilometer marathon, a 21-kilometer half-marathon, a four-kilometer mini-marathon, and fun runs.

The start-finish line of the marathon and the half-marathon is set at Jingxi Sports Center. Participants will run past a wetland park, two 4A scenic spots, and three ancient towns along their route, treating themselves to unique border scenery during the race.

The design of this year's medal is inspired by Xiuqiu, silk balls made with stripes of silk. Xiuqiu, with colored flowers and birds embroidered on it, is a traditional Chinese pledge for love among China's Zhuang ethnic group.
