An exhibition containing more than 40 photographs showcasing China's efforts and achievements in poverty alleviation was held at the city hall in The Hague, Netherlands on April 11.

Hosted by organizations including the State Council Information Office of the People's Republic of China and the Jilin Provincial People's Government, the exhibition was part of the "Better Life, Dreams Come True" event. It was held in Brussels the previous day.

The exhibition illustrates China's progress in poverty alleviation through education, cultural exchanges, tourism, and e-commerce, showcasing the transformation of people's lives in China.

Mayor of The Hague Pauline Krikke said at the opening ceremony that poverty alleviation is a development goal of the United Nations, and China has achieved tremendous progress in this regard – something it should be proud of.

China's achievements in poverty alleviation not only contribute to global poverty reduction, but also set an example for other developing countries, said Peter Potman, director of the Asia-Oceania Department of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The exhibition will also be held in Denmark.
