Chaozhou People's Hospital is an important guiding center for emergency treatment, medicine, scientific research, teaching and medical technology in the eastern part of Guangdong. 

The hospital has set up the Chaozhou Clinical Base of the Department of Hepatobiliary and Intestine Surgery of the Ministry of Health, the Chaozhou Cancer Radiation Therapy Center, and the ICU Treatment Center. The inpatient department has 1,200 beds and a total of 34 wards. 

The annual number of outpatients and emergency patients is 540,000, and the hospital annually discharges more than 37,000 people and does 10,000 operations.  

The hospital has spent a total of more than 200 million yuan ($29.78 million) on advanced medical equipment, providing accurate diagnostics and strong technical support for clinical treatment. There are more than 1,300 employees in the hospital, including 130 senior titles and 165 intermediate titles. 

In recent years, the hospital has successfully performed a large number of high-tech projects, such as the separation of conjoined infants, universal iron forceps into the skull and a substantial amount of minimally invasive surgery. In addition, more than 60 scientific research achievements have won provincial and municipal awards, and two scientific research achievements have obtained national patents.
