Founded in 1912 but renamed in 1986, Jiangmen Central Hospital has been rated as a 3A-grade hospital since 1993. 

It covers an area of 65,000 square meters and has a total construction area of 166,000 square meters, including a surgical inpatient building, a medical inpatient building, an outpatient building, and a tumor building. The hospital has 2,500 open beds and 45 clinical and medical technology departments, along with 2,729 employees, including 465 senior titles. The annual number of outpatients and in-patients averages 2.42 million and 94,000 respectively. The hospital also does 37,000 operations per year.

The hospital has nine provincial key specialties -- intensive medicine, obstetrics, urology, respiratory medicine, neurology, ophthalmology, thoracic surgery, gastroenterology, and nephrology -- as well as, 29 municipal key clinical specialties. Currently, it has 23 major projects, among which three projects are exclusive in the city to Jiangmen Central Hospital.

In addition to necessary technical projects, the hospital ranks highly in the fields of the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, respiratory and digestive diseases; maternity care, tumor treatment, organ transplantation, minimally invasive surgery, interventional therapy, bone marrow transplantation, human assisted reproductive technology and more.
