Shagang Group

Shagang Group, a company based in Zhangjiagang city, Jiangsu province, is the largest private steel enterprise in China and is listed as one of the Fortune Global 500 enterprises.

Established in 1975, Shagang Group has developed a complete set of integrated and advanced steel and iron processing equipment and facilities, for sintering, pellet making, coking, iron processing, steel making, hot rolling, cold rolling and the corresponding auxiliary plants.

The main products manufactured by Shagang are heavy-wide plates, hot strips, cold strips, wire rods, coiled bars, ribbed bars and special bar quality steel, which have already formed over 60 series, 700 varieties and 2,000 specifications.

Shagang Group has four steel production enterprises in both Jiangsu and Henan provinces. In 2018, it achieved production figures totaling 31.83 million tons of iron, 40.66 million tons of steel and 39.54 million tons of rolled products. The firm achieved revenues of 241 billion yuan ($35.87 billion) in 2018, beating the total for the previous year.
