Azaleas blossom in Bijie, Guizhou province

Dubbed the "Ribbon of the Earth", the Baili Azalea scenic area in Bijie, Southwest China's Guizhou province, sees its full blossoming season in early April.

With an area of 125.8 square kilometers, Baili Azalea Scenic Spot is the largest alpine azalea forest belt in the world, boasting more than 60 varieties of azaleas.

The area ranks among the top 10 most popular tourist spots in Guizhou, and the azaleas here are expected to remain in bloom from mid-March to early May.

The area is home to over 10 ethnic groups, including the Yi, Miao, Bai, Man and Bouyei peoples, whose populations account for 71 percent of the 110,000 residents.

Since 2015, Bailidujuan Scenic Spot has launched helicopter flights and a hot-air balloon project to overlook the sea of flowers.
