Nearly 1,000 triathletes, over 200 of whom are IRONMAN All World Athletes, will put their stamina under test in the 2019 IRONMAN 70.3 Liuzhou on April 14.

Leading the lineup are three-time IRONMAN World Champion Craig Alexander, Imogen Simmonds, winner of the 2018 IRONMAN 70.3 Xiamen, and Agnieszka Jerzyk, winner of the 2018 IRONMAN 70.3 Liuzhou.

An IRONMAN 70.3, also known as a "Half IRONMAN," is one of a series of long-distance triathlon races organized by the World Triathlon Corporation. It was introduced into China four years ago to promote an active and healthy lifestyle.

The "70.3" figure refers to competitors having to finish a 70.3-mile race, which consists of a 1.2-mile swim, a 56-mile bike ride, and a 13.1-mile run.

The event is in its third year in Liuzhou, and is jointly organized by the Department of Sport of Guangzi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Liuzhou Municipal People's Government, and Wanda Sports Holdings.
