​New body to help promote Shanxi trade

In an important development, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao (Shanxi) Trade Promotion Association was founded in Hong Kong on March 24, with several Shanxi commerce and merchant associations attending the founding ceremony. 

The association will further the already important ties of Shanxi merchants and partnerships with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao region. It will establish an international platform for Shanxi merchants and companies based on the development layout of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and take advantage of the resources of Shanxi-born businesspeople in the Greater Bay Area. 

"Hong Kong, as an international financial center, has a sound legal and judicial system, efficient professional services, a large number of professionals, which can provide a platform for Shanxi enterprises to introduce and promote services and professionals," said Yu Chin-jung, director of the association. 

It is expected that Shanxi will take a big part in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and attract investment through the platform.
