Hunchun Comprehensive Bonded Zone, formerly known as Hunchun Export Processing Zone, is located in Hunchun Border Economy Cooperate District and was established upon the approval of the State Council in April 2000.

It was upgraded into a comprehensive bonded zone with a customs clearance area of 1.04 square kilometers on April 18, 2018, after receiving approval from the State Council.

As one of the first 15 pilot export processing zones set up by the State Council and the second comprehensive bonded zone in Jilin province, it is a special customs supervision area integrating processing and manufacturing, R&D, logistics distribution, testing, maintenance, and sales services into one.

At present, 65 enterprises from South Korea, Japan, the United States, Russia, and other countries have settled in the zone. From January to May in 2017, it had completed the import and export trade volume of $240 million, an increase of about 15 percent year-on-year, with the import and export cargo volume reaching 190,000 tons, an increase of about 150 percent year-on-year.
