Guangxi Liugong Machinery

Founded in 1958, the solely State-owned Liugong Machinery is Guangxi’s first listed enterprise. As one of the largest construction machinery manufacturers in China, LiuGong has factories in India, Poland, and Brazil, as well as eight marketing branches and eight accessories supply centers, and more than 300 dealers in over 130 countries and regions. It boasts five research and development bases in China, India, Poland, the US, and the UK, as well as 10 overseas subsidiaries.

Listed among China’s top 500 enterprises and Top 100 China Machinery Industry Companies, Liugong is in possession of more than 1,000 research and development personnel, and focuses on technological innovation. The company has set up global-oriented research and development organizations, and established research institutes at home and abroad.

In recent years, Liugong has been seeking to expand globally. Revenue from overseas sales accounted for around 35 percent of the company's total sales. The company has a presence in 51 countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, and it launched a Belt and Road project together with the Guangxi government and the embassies of 11 countries in 2015.

In the first three quarters of 2018, the company’s total industrial output value reached 16.7 billion yuan ($2.5 billion), up 55 percent year-on-year. Its operation revenue hit 16.2 billion yuan, an increase of 49.1 percent, and its total profit was 1.16 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 289.6 percent, 406.9 percent of the annual budget goal.

Liugong is expected to deepen its reform, foster innovation, and present new achievements during the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20). It will explore the strategic opportunities of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Made in China 2025 policy, and supply-side structural reform to strengthen its core industry sectors, namely engineering machinery and building machinery, in order to promote internationalization.
