New air routes will open to Zhengzhou-Heihe, Luzhou, and Yancheng, while China Southern Airlines Zhuhai resumes flights to Taiyuan and Tianjin during the summer-autumn aviation season starting March 31.

More flights will be added to Chongqing, Hangzhou of Zhejiang, and Chengdu of Sichuan. Some Dalian and Changchun-bound flights will eliminate stopovers though. The number of China Southern Airlines hops will increase by 9.8 percent year-on-year to 224 weekly, connecting Zhuhai with 30 major domestic cities.

Profile of new connections:

Heihe in northeastern Heilongjiang Province faces Blagoveshchensk, the largest city in the Russian Far East, which lies across the Heilong (Amur) River. In addition to an exotic style, the city is richly bestowed by nature with breathtaking volcanoes, health-oriented mineral springs, boundless forests, and a fairyland of snow scenery.

Sichuan's Luzhou is the only geographic junction of the province with Yunnan and Guizhou provinces and Chongqing Municipality, which makes it an important commercial and logistics center. The city is best known for its alcoholic beverages.

Yancheng, literally "Salt City," is named after the salt harvest fields surrounding it. The central Jiangsu city is home to hundreds of first- and second-class national protected animals, including Père David's deer and the red-crowned crane.
