Suzhou New District pilots 5G technology

Suzhou New District (SND) in Jiangsu province has piloted 5G technology at the district's Technology Building, according to local media.

5G is the latest generation of cellular mobile communications. 5G performance provides high data rates, reduced latency, energy saving, cost reduction, higher system capacity, and increased device connectivity.

After rounds of discussions between the district's economic development committee and 5G experts from China Telecommunications Corp, the local government decided to cover the local building with 5G networks.

Both staff members of the district's management committee at the building and its visitors can enjoy the cutting-edge technology.

The trial is a key measure of the SND's moves at digitalization and the local economic development committee's plans to build a database supported by cloud computing, internet of things, big data, artificial intelligence and other new generation information technology.

In addition, SND will also carry out trial operations of 5G technology in tech, financial, manufacturing industries and local schools in the near future.
