Anyang Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone entered the list of national development zones in September 2010, upon approval from the State Council. It is a pilot manufacturing base for display products.
Covering an area of 5.26 square kilometers, the development zone consists of three blocks, 28 communities, and five villages. It is home to a population of about 180,000.
To date, the zone has incubated three pillar industries, covering equipment manufacturing, electronic information, and biological technology. It is home to a total of 362 enterprises, including 46 enterprises above designated scale, which are those with annual sales of more than 5 million yuan or $744,371, and 18 certified national hi-tech enterprises.
The zone has been rated as a national pilot manufacturing base for display products, and a demonstration area zone for integrating production, education, and research, as well as an industrial cluster of famous brands.
In 2017, the zone's GDP was 6.30 billion yuan, up 8.1 percent year-on-year, and the industrial added value reached 2.3 billion yuan, increasing by 8.6 percent compared with the previous year.
