Shanxi plans home for 500 importers

Shanxi, an inland province in North China, plans to incubate 500 cross-border e-commerce importers mainly importing consumer goods.

To achieve its objective, Shanxi will first support its provincial capital Taiyuan in applying to become a national comprehensive pilot area for cross-border e-commerce and introduce cross-border e-commerce platforms and leading import companies, such as vip.com, xiaohongshu.com and kaola.com.

Companies will be encouraged to attend the China International Import Expo to expand their import trade. They are also encouraged to set up imports purchasing, distribution and delivery centers at bonded warehouses, bonded logistics centers and areas under supervision of customs.

In addition, the province will implement policies on the reduction of import tax rates for some goods and on the import tax rates for cross-border e-commerce retail. The imports of daily consumer goods, medical and rehabilitation equipment, and elderly care equipment will be increased.
