The film Patrolman Baoyin, produced by an Inner Mongolia-based film company, won the best screenwriting award during the closing ceremony of the 4th Chinese Film Festival in Germany in Frankfurt, Germany on Feb 24.

The film is based on the true stories of the police patrolman, Buyandelger, who has been scaling mountains and traversing deserts in western Inner Mongolia autonomous region for more than a decade.

It was listed as one of the nine most recommended works to mark the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up by the China Film Administration, the country's top film regulator.

Sun Congbin, Chinese consul general in Frankfurt said that 11 Chinese films were screened during the festival, presenting real-life stories in China to the local audience.

The film festival was part of celebrations organized by the Chinese Embassy in Germany marking the Spring Festival and was supported by the government authorities in Frankfurt and Duesseldorf.
