Zhuhai is seeking to improve locals' quality of life by upgrading leisure experience at gardens, enhancing streetscapes through trimming trees along artery roads, and building a new landmark viewing complex near Xianglu Bay.

Tree pruning plans have been formulated. Some changes are meant to enhance the trees' resistance to typhoons while others are just to keep them in excellent shape.

Renovation of many municipal parks is proceeding as planned. The local government has decided to put some money into upgrading Haibin and Jingshan Mt parks. Reconstruction of Bailiandong, Xiangshan, and Paotaishan parks, and others, will also receive investment from the government.

Development of a viewing complex called City Balcony is also progressing smoothly. It will replace the Qiaoyuan Hotel and join Haibin Road, Lovers Avenue, and Xianglu Bay to form a larger viewing platform perfect for sightseeing. Phase I will be completed by December 2020 while the entire project will be wrapped up by the end of 2022.
