A delegation from Jilin province in Northeast China visited the Chinese embassy in Pyongyang, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, on Feb 19.

The group was there to promote the province's traditional culture, staging performances to mark Chinese Lantern Festival.

A large group of DPRK representatives came to see the cultural performances, including Pak Bong-Ju, the country's premier; Lee Chang-Geun, deputy minister of the International Department of the Korean Workers' Party, and Kim Hyong-Ryong, deputy prime minister of the people's armed forces of the DPRK.

China's ambassador to the country, Li Jinjun, heralded the latest developments in the China-DPRK relationship, highlighting the four high-profile meetings that have taken place since March 2018.

Li welcomed the start of a new chapter in the two sides' bilateral relationship, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.

A photo exhibition showcasing the natural scenery, customs and economic achievements of Jilin province was also held during the activity to boost ties between the province and the DPRK.
