Highlights of Harbin’s work in 2018, promising 2019 ahead

In 2019, Harbin will strive to promote the high-quality progress of the city. The GDP target is set at more than 5.5 percent, with general public budget revenue increasing by 3.5 per cent and the per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents aiming to grow in line with GDP. The registered urban unemployment rate shall be kept below 4.3 percent and the comprehensive energy consumption per 10,000 yuan of GDP will decrease by about 4.5 percent. 

For this process to work, Harbin is to establish a modern industrial system and give impetus to its industrial transformation and upgrading, accelerating the development of high-end industries. Secondly, it will vigorously boost cultural tourism, providing more considerate tour routes for tourists, and strive to achieve a total tourism revenue of more than 150 billion yuan. Lastly, it will deeply involve itself in building the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the "China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor", and aim to strengthen cooperation with Japan, South Korea and Israel.
