Construction of the new museum's main structure has begun.

Its exhibition area will include five parts: a general Suzhou history pavilion, a Suzhou handicrafts pavilion, a discovery children's pavilion, a cooperation pavilion with Canada's Royal Ontario Museum and a temporary pavilion.

According to Chen, Suzhou Museum was recognized as one of the best in China in 2018 and the Suzhou New District branch will surely help improve its profile nationwide
