Historical and cultural towns in Guangxi recognized

Two towns and 20 villages in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region were named as part of the 7th group of Famous Chinese Historical and Cultural Towns (Villages).

They include Guilin's Fuli town, Fangchenggang's Naliang town, Nanning's Cai village, Yulin's Dalou and Lingtang villages, Hezhou's Longjing village, and Cenxi's Yunlong village, among others.

The list was released by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the National Cultural Heritage Administration. A total of 60 domestic towns and 211 villages were recognized for their historical value or distinct regional characteristics.

There are now nine Famous Chinese Historical and Cultural Towns and 29 Famous Chinese Historical and Cultural Villages in Guangxi. Seven towns and nine villages already have a protection plan, while more will follow, according to an official from the Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
