Over 4,000 varieties of flowers and bonsais from more than 130 florists recently became available at the Hainan Flower Park in Haikou, putting locals in the holiday spirit.

This year's New Year flower fair offers a greater variety and higher quality of flowers than in the past, and the Hainan Flower Park, the venue for this year's fair, is the island province's largest flower export market.

A flower lantern show integrating traditional culture with modern technology took the event to a whole new level.

Thirty-seven large themed lighting sets and 12 folk museums on the park's Hainan Cultural Street make the flower fair a great choice for family outings during Spring Festival.

The Hainan Flower Park sits beside the Nandu River in Fucheng town, Qiongshan district. It is one of Haikou's key projects, covering an area of 20 hectares and receiving a total of 46.96 million yuan ($6.96 million) in investment. It offers the largest flower trade show in Hainan and is an ideal place for traveling and sightseeing.
