Guiyang, capital of Guizhou province, is one of 37 national comprehensive reform pilot areas of service industry across China. Guiyang is speeding up the development of producer services, actively developing life-based service industries, and vigorously developing exhibitions, finance, trade service, culture and other emerging service industries. These recent leaps in progress for the city mark it as an important business and trade center, financing center and the "Summer Convention and Exhibition City".
Guiyang enjoys sound ecological environment, tourism resources and competitive industries, which lay sound foundations for the city's conference and exhibition industry.
Guiyang has justly earned the title of "Summer Convention and Exhibition City" as it has hosted a number of brand-name exhibitions, including Big Data Expo, Eco Forum Global Guiyang Forum, China (Guizhou) International Alcoholic Beverages Expo, Guiyang International Auto Expo, Guiyang International Beer Festival, and China (Guiyang) Mountain Cycling Competition.
The local government will simplify the approval process for the conference and exhibition industry and open a "green channel" for recording management of the industry to provide "one-stop" services for local companies.
The city will also set up a special fund of 30 million yuan ($4.5 million) to support the development of the conference and exhibition industry and key projects.
