Model UN town planned for Jilin

A launch ceremony for the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development and Eco-friendly Health and Well-being Town Demonstration Project was held in Northeast China's Jilin province on Jan 29.

Located at Quanyan town in Changchun, Jilin's provincial capital, it is the first UN project of this kind in the world, with a focus on healthy living and wellness.

With investment of 3 billion yuan ($445.36 million), the project covers an area of 2 million square meters, and is expected to be completed in five years.

Following completion, it will host agricultural projects, cultural events, and tourist activities.
