Rows of glowing lanterns will add to the festive mood at Shenyang Expo Garden, northeast China's Liaoning province, as Spring Festival, or Chinese New Year, draws near. This year's edition of the Shenyang International Lantern Festival has a theme of "a flourishing age", highlighting the great historical achievements that China has realized through the past 40 years of reform and opening-up. Visitors can expect dazzling displays that are at a higher level in its scale, creativity and interactive experience, while incorporating some current popular elements too.
