A glimpse of Fuzhou Spring Festival gala

Recording of the Fuzhou Shiyi Spring Festival gala highlighting the city's folk arts finished on Jan 22.

This year's gala covers a great variety of programs, which include Fujian opera, folk songs, sketches, symphonies and scene plays.

The gala showcases some folk arts from Shiyi, which refers to the 10 counties and districts administered by Fuzhou, including Fuqing, Minqing, Lianjiang, Luoyuan, Pingnan and Gutian.

The great artisanship of a wooden arcade bridge from Pingan, a world intangible cultural heritage, was demonstrated at the gala. Another highlight will be the folk songs of the She People, which is listed as a national intangible cultural heritage.

The gala is scheduled to be aired on the evening of Feb 4, Chinese New Year's Eve, on Fuzhou local television along with some other media websites.
