CPPCC members take action on 458 mission proposals

The 3rd Session of the 9th Zhuhai Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) opened at the Zhuhai Grand Hall in Old Xiangzhou on Jan 21.

Ninth CPPCC Zhuhai Municipal Committee Chairman Chen Honghui delivered the work report on behalf of the Standing Committee, summarizing the work of 2018 and outlining missions for 2019.

Since the 2nd Session, 458 proposals have been submitted regarding economic development, societal harmony and progress, urban functions improvement, cultural and tourist prosperity, and talent cultivation.

Of the 458 proposals, 351 were filed upon examination and assigned to 79 authorities for execution. At the same time, the CPPCC Municipal Committee selected nine key proposals and supervised their implementation.

Thirty-five outstanding proposals and 12 advanced units, including the Zhuhai Education Bureau, were presented with awards. 

They were credited with improving the business environment, advancing transport construction in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, building Zhuhai-characterized new-type think tanks, developing public transport, tapping into red cultural resources, and refining urban landscape management.

Zhuhai Party Chief Guo Yonghang, Mayor Yao Yisheng and other senior city officials were seated on the central rostrum.
